To order some breast milk jewellery, simply pop us a message in the 'contact us' section and we will talk you through the details so that you can place your order and we will send out a breast milk collection kit if you need one.
Breast milk jewellery incurs an extra £10 on top of the usual jewellery price. This is because preserving breast milk takes more time and labour, as unlike other inclusions, milk has to undergo a process to turn it into a powdered state ready to be set inside the resin.
We typically ask for 10ml of breast milk, which usually allows us enough preserved milk to make multiple pieces, but we understand that sometimes it might be challenging to provide that amount. Don't worry, we can work with as little as 5ml of milk if needed. Either fresh or frozen breast milk is fine as it stays fresh for a pretty long period of time.
Any milk which isn't used will be returned to you in either it's original frozen state, when you send more than we need, or in it's preserved powdered state when we have some left over after making your jewellery.
All of our jewellery is made using hallmarked sterling silver but we can also create a bespoke piece using 9ct gold. Pop us an email if this is something you wish to discuss further.
Once you've placed your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order number on. We will then send you out a DNA collection kit (unless you specified when you ordered that you don't need one). There is an instruction page inside the collection kit which tells you how much of your inclusion to put inside the bag. Please make sure to write your name, contact number, address and order number on the clear ziplock bag so that we know who the inclusions belong to. Any inclusions which aren't used in the production of your jewellery will be returned to you with your finished product. Your DNA collection kit comes with a stamped return envelope. You can put this straight into your nearest post box or upgrade to signed delivery at your local post office for more peace of mind, as we cannot be held responsible for items that are lost or damaged during delivery. If you still haven't received your DNA collection kit 5 working days after placing your order, please let us know and we'll happily send you out another one.
For breast milk orders please contact us beforehand and we will send you a collection kit if needed. If this isn't required you can simple pour the required amount of milk into a small bottle, vial or milk bag then place it into a labeled ziplock bag and send it directly to us at the address provided on our 'contact us' page.
Our standard turnaround time for creating your jewellery is 2 - 3 weeks from receiving your inclusions. However, please note that turnaround times are provided as a guideline and may be subject to slight variations. For breast milk orders we will need to preserve your milk into a powdered state before working with it. This can take several days to a week, so please allow more time for this. Rings that come in specific sizes will need to be ordered from our supplier after you place your order. If they aren't currently in stock, we will contact you to let you know that your order may take longer. In the event of this happening, if you do not wish to wait longer, we can offer you an alternate style or a full refund.
Any leftover inclusions will be returned to you along with your jewellery.
To ensure your precious keepsake stays in great condition and continues to look its best, follow these simple care instructions. You'll also receive a copy of these instructions along with your finished jewellery piece for future reference.
Please remember that we cannot be held responsible for how you choose to wear your jewellery or present your ornaments, but we are here to offer advice. If you follow these care instructions, your jewellery will remain in excellent condition for years to come.
As a standard practice, we typically request 10ml of breast milk, but we can work with as little as 5ml.
For umbilical cord inclusions, only half of it is necessary; please refrain from sending the entire cord, as it is irreplaceable and there is always the chance of issues during delivery.
Regarding hair/fur, a good-sized pinch is required. However you may send more if you wish, but again, please don't send all of it.
For cremation ashes, we ask for half a teaspoon per item ordered.
Please ensure that you label your inclusions with your name, address, contact number and order number. This will stay with your inclusions throughout the entire process. We only work on one piece at a time, and clean everything down before working on the next piece to avoid contamination.
